Water Mist Systems

Water mist fire suppression systems disperse fine water droplets to form a mist which suppresses fire by cooling the flame and surrounding gases by evaporation, by displacing oxygen using evaporation and by attenuating radiant heat. The systems are water-efficient, offer simple recharge, cause little water damage and are environmentally safe.

Common Applications:

  • Mission-critical facilities
  • Total flood machinery spaces
  • Local high-risk applications
  • Accommodation areas
  • Other machinery spaces
  • Gas turbine enclosures
  • Bilges
  • Vehicle decks

  • Immediate activation
  • No toxicity
  • Minimal water damage
  • Efficient

There are three different types of water mist systems: GPU, MAU and SPU.

  • GPU – This gas pump unit is a self-contained water mist fire suppression unit. It does not need an external power source for operation.
  • MAU – The machinery space accumulator unit is designed to protect machinery spaces from hazards that can catch fire due to flammable liquids or lubricants.
  • SPU – Sprinkler pump units provide continuous operation. They use water tanks or an external supply of water to prolong protection using water mist systems.
